VIVACE® (RF) MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT
VIVACE: MICRONEEDLING MEETS
RADIO FREQUENCY TECHNOLOGY
WHAT IS VIVACE?
Vivace is a microneedling treatment that uses radio frequency (RF) energy delivered through ultra-fine, insulated needles. The device creates tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin’s surface while simultaneously delivering RF energy into the deeper layers. This dual approach is designed to support the skin’s natural repair processes, so it’s often chosen for texture, mild laxity, and general skin refinement.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Vivace uses a sterile cartridge of ultra-fine needles that stamp the skin in a precise, uniform pattern. As the needles penetrate the surface, radiofrequency (RF) energy is delivered into the deeper layers of the skin. This controlled thermal effect supports collagen function and promotes gradual tissue remodelling.
Both the needle depth and energy levels are carefully adjusted according to the treatment area, your skin type, and individual goals to ensure a tailored and balanced approach.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Vivace is often considered in areas where firmness and texture can vary, particularly through the lower face and jawline.
It may not be recommended for reactive or thinning skin or when there is active irritation. Treatment may also be delayed following recent sun exposure or if the skin barrier requires recovery time. Your clinician will help determine timing and suitability during your consultation.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR VIVACE TREATMENT
Your Vivace treatment begins with a consultation to confirm suitability and plan your treatment approach. Your clinician will assess your skin’s resilience, treatment history, and timing to ensure RF microneedling aligns with your skin goals.
During your treatment session
Timelines are a general guide and may vary based on your skin response and treatment plan.
- Each session is 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
- We’ll prepare the skin, potentially applying a numbing cream.
- You may feel a warm, light stamping sensation as the needles pass over the skin.
- Mild redness, swelling, or a feeling of heat can follow and typically settles within one to a few days.
- A soothing mask or serum is applied immediately after your treatment.

Preparing for your treatment
Preparation guidance may differ based on your skin and medical history.
- Pause active skincare (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs) for 3 days beforehand.
- Avoid all incidental sun exposure before treatment as best as you can.
- Avoid waxing, tanning, or heat-based treatments before your appointment.
- Arrive with clean skin, free from makeup, sunscreen, and self-tanning products.
- Inform your clinician about any recent cosmetic procedures, medication changes, or medical conditions.

After your treatment
Recovery times are different for everyone. If you need personalised aftercare advice, please contact the clinic.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for around 5 to 7 days and apply SPF 50+ daily.
- Hydrate the skin with gentle, non-active moisturisers.
- Avoid direct heat, steam rooms, and intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
- Mild flaking or dryness may occur. Avoid exfoliating or picking.
- Makeup can usually be applied the next day once redness has settled.

YOUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here, our dermal clinicians have answered some of your most commonly asked questions about the Vivace needling. For tailored guidance, you’re always welcome to contact the clinic.
Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling and traditional microneedling, such as SkinPen, work through different mechanisms. RF microneedling combines fine needles with controlled heat to target deeper layers of the skin, while traditional microneedling focuses on surface-level stimulation to support collagen production.
Neither treatment is universally “better”. However, the most suitable option depends on your skin type, concerns, comfort level, and treatment goals. Your clinician will assess these factors and recommend an approach tailored to your individual needs.
Yes, Vivace is often included in broader skin treatment plans. It may be paired with modalities such as LED, peels, and topical products such as New Cellular Treatment Factor (NCTF). As well as other cosmeceutical products to support recovery. Your clinician will recommend a combination that suits your skin and timing.
It’s common to notice a warm sensation in the skin and temporary visible changes, such as redness or mild swelling, as the tissue responds to treatment. Some people also describe a dry or slightly textured feel in the days that follow.
These responses generally settle without intervention. Your clinician will explain what you can expect based on your treatment settings and skin profile, and guide you on how to care for your skin as it settles. If anything feels unusual, particularly discomfort that increases rather than settles, you should contact the clinic for assessment.
Because the skin may be more sensitive after treatment, many clients schedule RF microneedling during periods when they can avoid prolonged sun exposure and allow the skin time to settle.
Your clinician will help plan timing based on factors such as recent sun exposure, upcoming events, and other treatments in your plan.
Vivace pricing varies depending on factors such as the area being treated, the number of sessions recommended, and whether RF microneedling is part of a broader care plan. Some clients choose to pair this treatment with other modalities, which can also influence total cost.
Your clinician will provide transparent pricing and a personalised outline during consultation, so you can make an informed decision.
