Bunny lines injections

Bunny lines are the series of diagonal lines that run up the sides of your nose when you scrunch it. These nose wrinkles, also known as nasal scrunch lines, can appear when you make facial expressions, especially when you laugh, smile, squint or frown.

Bunny lines are caused by contractions of the facial muscles beneath. As your skin loses its elasticity, your nose may begin to develop wrinkles corresponding to your bunny lines. These may initially appear as fine frown lines but can eventually deepen into deeply etched creases.

Depending on the severity of your bunny lines and a host of other factors, such as your age and skin conditions, your dedicated doctor will tailor your bunny line treatments to bring about the best results.

At your consultation, we’ll help you decide whether anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers are appropriate treatments for you. We’ll then give you detailed pre-appointment preparation instructions to follow. Following these instructions will help you get the best results while minimising the risk of adverse reactions.

Our instructions will include (but may not be limited to):

• Avoid all skin treatments on your nose or face, including chemical peels and laser treatments.
• Avoid exercise, alcohol or medication that can thin your blood or drive up your heart rate for at least 48 hours before your session. This will help reduce the risk of excess bleeding and bruising.

Our clinic is as efficient as it is safe, and our sessions run between 1 and 1.5 hours. This includes a pre-injection treatment review and post-injection monitoring. Your session may go shorter or longer, depending on your unique treatment plan.

Here’s a general idea of how the day will go.

• You’ll arrive with a clean face, free of makeup or product, as per our instructions.
• Your doctor will review your treatment agenda. They’ll explain where your injections will be placed and how much filler or serum will be used. They’ll also address your questions and concerns.
• Before your bunny line treatment, we’ll give your face a final hygiene clean to minimise the chances of infection. We can also apply a numbing cream to your nose to minimise your discomfort.
• After you’ve had your bunny lines treated, we’ll monitor you for adverse reactions. If all is well, you can leave.

Our injectable treatments are minimally invasive and heal quickly. The injection sites on and around your nose may be tender for 3-4 days following your session, and you may experience minor swelling and redness. This is natural and will subside on its own.

Your doctor will give you detailed instructions on how to help your injections heal, and your filler settle. These instructions will include the following:

• Keep the skin around the treatment site clean and moisturised. We recommend using Hydra-vital light moisturising gel cream. 
• Do not put excessive pressure on your nose and face. Avoid sleeping on your face.
• Avoid alcohol, exercise and blood-thinning medication for at least four days.
