Every one of our dermal filler injections is made of pure hyaluronic acid (HA). We do this because hyaluronic acid is an extremely safe and wonderfully beneficial substance.

Your body naturally produces HA as a tissue lubricant and moisturiser. It helps keep your muscles, skin and connective tissue soft and pliable. As you age, your body’s ability to produce the substance diminishes, which is one of the reasons why skin begins to sag and lose its lustre.

Injected as a dermal filler, hyaluronic acid not only adds volume and structure but also restores your skin’s suppleness and elasticity.

During your initial consultation, your doctor will give you detailed written instructions for how to prepare for your chin enhancement treatment. These instructions will help mitigate risks such as adverse reactions, infections, and excess bleeding or bruising.

Our instructions will include:

• You must not apply any skin treatments to the area for at least seven days before your session. This means no chemical peels, laser treatments or hair-removal treatments.
• You must avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise and blood-thinning substances for at least two days before your session to avoid excess bleeding and bruising.

Here’s what to expect at your non-surgical chin augmentation procedure.

1. We’d like you to arrive at your appointment with a clean, product-free face. 
2. Your doctor will review the treatment plan with you to ensure you know precisely what will happen.
3. We’ll clean the skin around the treatment area and can apply a numbing cream to lessen your discomfort during the injections.
4. We’ll perform the procedure.
5. After your treatment, we’ll ask you to remain for a brief monitoring period.

If we don’t notice any adverse reactions, you’ll be free to leave. The entire session should last approximately an hour. You likely won’t need much recovery time, and should be able to keep any work or personal appointments following your treatment.

Following your procedure, we’ll give you detailed instructions on how to help your filler settle and your skin heal. Our instructions will include:

• Filler bumps are natural. You can help the filler settle by gently massaging it with a wet face towel or cold press.
• Cleanse your face gently, and keep your skin moisturised. We recommend the Hydra-vital light moisturising gel cream.
• Avoid alcohol, strenuous activities and blood-thinning medication for at least four days following your treatment.
