PicoWay Laser Treatment

During a PicoWay treatment, the skin is exposed to ultra-short pulses of energy. This energy breaks up the ink or pigmented cells in the skin without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.

The body’s natural healing process then removes these broken-up cells, reducing the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, dark spots, or tattoos. The process also produces collagen and elastin for more youthful and smooth skin.

Will PicoWay effectively treat my skin concern?

PicoWay laser handpieces are available in either full beam or split beam types, each designed to treat a range of specific skin concerns. The PicoWay Laser Treatment is effective for a variety of skin concerns, including:

  • Tattoo Removal

  • Pigmentation
  • Scar Removal
  • Rosacea
  • Stretch Marks

How do I prepare for my PicoWay Laser Treatment?

There is no specific preparation required for a PicoWay Laser Treatment. However, we recommend avoiding sun exposure and tanning for at least two weeks before your treatment. This will help to ensure that the treatment is as effective as possible.

During your consultation at Victorian Dermal Group, we will discuss whether you need a PicoWay laser tattoo removal or one of our skin rejuvenation treatments that utilise the PicoWay technology. Our experienced team will then provide you with all the preparation information you need to get the very best results.

Improves skin with low to no downtime.

PicoWay lasers use a targeted approach, so there’s virtually no downtime. The remarkably innovative picosecond laser uses less heat than many other laser treatments, so there's less discomfort too. However, you may experience some redness and swelling immediately after the treatment, but this will typically subside within a few hours.

We recommend avoiding sun exposure and using sunscreen for at least two weeks following your treatment to help protect your skin.

What is PicoWay for?

The Picoway laser is a cutting-edge technology that can be used on all skin types to treat a variety of skin concerns, including:

  • Acne scarring
  • Wrinkles
  • Tattoos
  • Benign pigmented lesions such as freckles, dark spots and age spots
  • Scarring
  • Stretch marks

How does PicoWay work?

PicoWay uses a laser handpiece that emits short pulses of energy to break up cells in the skin without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue. The body’s natural healing process then removes these broken-up cells, reducing the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, dark spots, or tattoos and improving overall skin texture.

Does PicoWay damage skin?

No, PicoWay does not damage the skin. In fact, the short pulses of energy used in PicoWay treatments actually help to stimulate collagen production, which can improve the overall skin tone and appearance of the skin.

Is PicoWay laser effective?

Yes, PicoWay is an extremely effective laser technology with a proven track record of delivering amazing results. When you book a PicoWay laser procedure at Victorian Dermal Group, we will discuss your skin goals and recommend a treatment plan that will be most effective for your skin concerns.

Is PicoWay or PicoSure better?

Both PicoWay and PicoSure are effective laser technologies that will treat a variety of skin concerns. The team at Victorian Dermal Group offer the PicoWay laser system as we believe it offers our patients the best results.

Is PicoWay covered by Medicare?

Medicare does not typically cover PicoWay treatments. However, we offer a range of finance options to make treatments that utilise PicoWay lasers more affordable.

How many PicoWay treatments will I need?

The number of PicoWay treatment sessions you need will depend on your skin concerns and goals. During your free consultation at Victorian Dermal Group, our experienced team will assess your needs and recommend a treatment plan that is right for you.
