Our renowned doctors

Our dedication to evidence-based and efficacious treatments has earned the trust of countless clients. Our dermal fillers for cheeks are safely administered by certified doctors.

How cheek dermal fillers work

Hyaluronic acid fillers are the critical ingredient in our cheek dermal filler treatments. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural product of the body, which it uses to create collagen and elastin. Because the body readily agrees with HA, it is considered the safest filler for cheek augmentation.

What we consider the ‘cheek’ covers the area beneath the eyes and the nasolabial folds (your smile lines) and stops just shy of the edge of the ear. Once injected, the cheek filler lifts the lower face and cheek into the desired position. HA is also adept at moisture retention, so our dermal filler injections will also aid in keeping your cheeks and face moisturised and soft.

How It Works

Why do people need cheek fillers at all?

As with all cosmetic procedures, stereotypical assumptions are made about people’s motivations to get them. Our clinic is a judgement-free environment.

Cheeks lose volume and elasticity for a variety of reasons. Ageing, typically, but significant weight loss is a common cause too. Some seek to augment the height and contours of their cheeks. Others are looking to correct symmetrical imbalances caused by genetics or even accidents.

These motivations extend across all genders and age groups, and we welcome every opportunity to help patients achieve the confidence they seek.

Who It’s For

What you need to do before your cheek filler treatment

For the cheek filler injections to take and heal properly, it’s essential to prepare your face and cheeks correctly. In fact, focusing on your overall well-being is important for successful treatment.

  • The week before your treatment, you must avoid any form of skin treatment, especially for the face (chemical peels, for example). You must also avoid aspirin, exercise and alcohol.
  • The day before your dermal cheek fillers, you must avoid alcohol. Alcohol is a blood thinner and can cause excess bleeding and swelling.

Every patient’s journey begins with a consultation, and at that point, we’ll give you a detailed treatment plan. This plan will have detailed instructions for both preparation and aftercare.

Preparation

We will safely and comfortably inject your cheek fillers

Per the instructions we’ll give you during your consultation, you’ll arrive at your appointment without makeup. Then, you’ll be attended to by our specialist team. They’ll apply a numbing ointment to your cheeks. Finally, they’ll gently add the hyaluronic acid fillers into the fat pads of your cheeks, completing your treatment.

We assure you that your cheek filler treatment will be a stress-free and painless affair.

On the day

Caring for your face after cheek filler treatments

The first 24 hours after your cheek filler injections are the most sensitive hours. By carefully following our easy instructions, you can avoid any adverse reactions.

  • You must continue avoiding alcohol. Even a single celebratory glass can thin your blood enough to cause bruising and swelling around your cheeks.
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medication, like aspirin, for the same reason.
  • It’s natural to experience some swelling around the injection site. Gently massage your cheeks with a cold pack.
  • It’s also normal for the cheek filler to feel slightly uneven. Gently massage any bumps with a clean cloth, and they will even out.

Remember that we are always a phone call away. If you have any questions or experience any irregularities, call us.

Aftercare

Cheek fillers for round faces

Round faces get their shape from the individual’s underlying bone structure and the wide and even fat deposits above. These fat deposits diminish with age, and the face's natural shape can exaggerate sagging skin.

Carefully placed cheek fillers can restore the full shape of a round face. Not only can our treatment soften wrinkles, but it can also add plump softness back to the cheek.

Cheek fillers for slimmer faces

Oval or heart-shaped faces are also the result of genetics. Their shape is determined by bone structure, as well as tissue and fat distribution. The issue that many of our clients seek to remedy is the definition of their facial features.

By adding cheek fillers to slim faces, we can better control facial proportions and definition. For example, we can create more pronounced cheekbones or plumpen sunken cheeks.

Some clients come to us seeking thinner faces. Cheek fillers add to the face; they don’t subtract from it. However, by carefully considering what features we pronounce, cheek fillers can create the effect of a slimmer face.

Our other facial dermal treatments

We’re confident that we offer Melbourne’s best dermal fillers for cheeks, but our accredited clinicians provide a more comprehensive range of injectable treatments. If one interests you, let’s discuss it during our consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does cheek filler do for your face?

Cheek fillers revitalise sunken skin and sagging cheeks. Fillers improve cheek volume and definition, soften wrinkles and create a contoured and shapely face.

Do cheek fillers lift the lower face as well?

Cheek fillers can reduce wrinkles and restore elasticity to the lower face, but do so in conjunction with other injectable treatments, such as our chin and jawline filler treatments.

How much dermal filler will you inject into my cheeks?

We generally use 1-3ml of hyaluronic acid dermal filler per cheek. However, the precise amount we’ll use in your case will depend on your specific condition and goals.

During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss exactly how much filler we’ll need to use. This will be important in determining how much your cheek fillers cost. We’ll be able to offer you a quote during that same consultation.

Will cheek fillers make my face look fatter?

Cheek fillers will not make your face look fatter if carefully and judiciously used.

This is a common concern with many of our patients. And overusing fillers can indeed result in a puffed and heavy appearance. Our team will not let that happen.

Where in my cheeks is the dermal filler injected?

Cheek filler injection points span the area between the under-eye, the corner of the mouth and the edge of the ear.

Dermal filler injection is a delicate procedure that requires specific expertise. Our medical training and years of experience allow us to avoid vascular injuries and inject the filler precisely where needed.

Can I sleep on my face after getting cheek fillers injected?

You should avoid sleeping on your face for at least 48 hours after getting cheek fillers. This will help reduce the minor swelling immediately after the procedure and let the filler settle into an even and symmetrical position.
