How we do a Dermamelan peel

When you first visit our clinic, our trained clinicians will assess your skin and recommend the best treatment for you. Before applying the Dermamelan peel, we'll cleanse and prepare your skin.

After the peel is applied, you'll take home an aftercare pack. Following up with three at-home phases of skincare ensures lasting results from your peel.

What skin concerns does a Dermamelan peel treat?

Dermamelan peels are suitable for anyone with spots, freckles or hyperpigmentation. It treats melasma, chloasma, lentigo and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Hyperpigmentation may result from hormonal changes, ageing or sun exposure. A Dermamelan peel can reduce these visible blemishes for smooth, clear skin in all skin types and shades.

How the peel works for lasting results

Dermamelan peels work to intensively correct hyperpigmentation while reducing melanin production. You'll immediately notice clearer skin after the peel. Your skin will remain clear as the at-home care inhibits the ongoing production of melanin.

Your Dermamelan treatment begins in our clinic with a chemical peel that you will wash off at home. Then there are three phases of at-home skincare to ensure long-lasting results.

Preparing for your Dermamelan peel

When you arrive in our clinic for your treatment, you should wear comfortable clothing and have clean skin, free of makeup.

It's best to stop using any products like glycolic acid or retinol one week before your mask. During your initial consultation, your clinician will review your current skincare routine suggest any adjustments before your treatment.

Your Dermamelan mask will be applied in our clinic and will remain in place when you go home for 6-12 hours. You may decide to take a day off work for your treatment. Once the treatment is complete, rinse your face with plenty of warm water.

Lasting results with at-home skincare

The Dermamelan peel is the first stage of your treatment, and you'll see excellent results in the first week. At your appointment, your clinician will instruct you regarding your at-home skincare program to ensure your skin stays clear and bright.

You'll return to our clinic for a follow-up appointment, and if you ever have questions about your at-home skincare routine, you can contact us at any time.

How long does a Dermamelan treatment take?

Your Dermamelan treatment begins in our clinic, where you should allow around 30-45 minutes for your appointment. You'll leave the mask on for 8-12 hours before washing it off at home.

For lasting results, we recommend that you follow the prescribed at-home skincare routine for a total of six months. In your initial appointment, your clinician will explain the steps involved, and you'll have follow-up appointments where you can ask any questions you have.

When will I see the results of my Dermamelan peel?

You'll notice an improvement in your skin's clarity and brightness within a week of your Dermamelan peel. After one month, your skin will be much brighter!

To maintain these results, be sure to wear sunscreen, protect your skin from sun exposure, and continue with your Dermamelan at-home skincare routine.

How does the treatment work to prevent pigmentation from recurring?

Your at-home Dermamelan protocol acts on the cells that produce melanin in the skin to inhibit melanin production and prevent it from migrating to the upper layers of the skin.

For lasting results, we recommend that you complete the full at-home treatment. Wearing sunscreen and protecting your skin from sun exposure helps to prolong your treatment results.

What is the difference between Cosmelan and Dermamelan peels?

Both Cosmelan and Dermamelan are Mesoestetic treatment protocols that begin with an in-clinic chemical peel and continue with a prescribed at-home skincare routine. Both treatments involve exfoliation of the skin to reduce pigmentation, followed by preventative skincare to reduce the likelihood of pigmentation reappearing.

Cosmelan peels help to treat new, superficial mild to moderate pigmentation and signs of ageing.

Dermamelan treats resistant hyperpigmentation to improve skin smoothness and radiant heath. We recommend Dermamelan for deep, stubborn, moderate to severe pigmentation.
